201216 Days of Activism to End Gender-based Violence, 25 November to 10 December 2012. The theme of this year's campaign in the Maldives is "no excuse to domestic violence." The Prevention of Domestic Violence Act was enacted in April 2012 and the Family Protection Authority was established to oversee the implementation of the Act. The new law declares all acts of domestic violence as punishable crime, giving protection and safety and cost‐effective, due and timely justice to victims. In this series of 16 spots, role models voice out to promote a culture of respect and zero tolerance towards violence. Featuring actor Ahmed Nimal.
